Spanish language stay in the Dominican Republic
In the Dominican Republic dreams come true: turquoise blue sea, white sand banks and shade giving coconut palms. Back in 1493 Christopher Columbus wrote in his logbook: “ The most beautiful country a human eye has ever seen”. Whilst the official language is Spanish, it differs from the Spanish spoken in Spain. The inhabitants have adopted some expressions and idioms from the Spanish colonial period as well as Anglo-American expressions.
In addition to Spanish, many of the Haitian Creole people living here speak French.
